Academic Specialist for Science
Job Description
As Academic Specialist for Science, you will contribute as a subject matter expert for the subject or subject group across all content creation phases and projects as required. This includes the creation of curriculum maps (content development), reviewing video drafts from content expert perspectives (video production), contributing to prototyping (content development), and advising on quality assurance framework for the particular subject.
Responsibilities:
- Manage either the end-to-end mass production or a phase within mass production for the subject or subject group under base content or video projects.
- Spearhead and execute end-to-end base content production
- Produce the script and storyboard needed for the video production of the subject
- Acquire a basic understanding of the content development principles and processes, and ensure the subject content design, templates, and prototypes effectively reflect the specific needs of the particular subject, given other requirements and constraints.
- Ensure quality of the content produced under the subject or subject group.
- When necessary, may be required by the Content Manager or direct manager/supervisor to take on content department ad-hoc projects or tasks that are outside of standard content development, production, or QA QC phases.
Educational Background
- Must have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in any of the following fields of science: chemistry and/or physics
Experience
- Must have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, majoring in any of the following fields of science: chemistry and/or physics
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in the above subjects (with 2 years minimum in a face-to-face learning setting).
- Must have education and/or publishing-related training.
- Extensive knowledge of science for basic education
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of science for basic education
- Background for ed-tech trends specific for science
- Familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed) and KWF Manwal sa Masinop na Pagsulat or any other style guidelines for writing and editing
- Familiar with the DepEd K-12 curriculum, Bloom’s taxonomy, and other learning pedagogies specific for science
- Proficient in Google Suite apps such as Docs, Slides, and Sheets

Work Arrangement
