People Retention & Engagement Associate Manager

Overview

The People Retention & Engagement Associate Manager will be responsible for the overall management, development and administration of Quipper’s compensation & benefits, employee engagement, employee adherence, payroll, and HRIS programs. This individual will serve as a subject matter expert and lead retention and engagement programs, benchmarking as well as act as the liaison between third-party vendors. The incumbent will be responsible for overall management, implementation, communication, and administration of the organization's retention and engagement programs. He/She will ensure that the retention and engagement programs support the organization from a strategic and compliance perspective.

Job Description

General

  • Manage the retention and engagement strategy including vision, mission, goals, action plans and measurements required to ensure effective compensation and benefits
  • Ensure alignment of incentive/reward elements with culture, strategy, and operational imperatives
  • Continuously work with People Operations team and management on upcoming trends
  • Work with the Philippines People Operations Manager to prepare all analysis and reports that must be approved by the CEO.
  • Create and build successful relationships with counterparts, consultants, partners, brokers and vendors.

Compensation

  • Provide expertise and guidance to other members of the People Operations team; advise People Operations and Managers on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretations, job evaluations and provide creative solutions to complex problems
  • Manage and oversee short- and long-term incentive plan design, job evaluation policies/procedures, market data analysis and internal equity analysis
  • Manage annual compensation processes including plan implementation, sales incentives, bonus and base pay increase preparation and long term incentive plans

  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness the company’s benefit programs, practices and procedures, including but not limited to health benefits, Retirement Plans, life insurance, disability coverage, and others, in relation to the strategic objectives and in terms of perceived benefit to employees, cost, legislative requirements, organizational culture, and the retention and recruitment of talent.

Payroll & HRIS

  • Perform and actively manage all activities necessary to process multi-schedule payroll in accordance with the company’s pay schedule(s) including: maintaining and updating related-employee records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as absences and tardiness, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with national payroll tax regulations, responds and resolves all payroll tax issues and ensures adequate tax registration and correct tax rates are paid.
  • Oversee quarterly reconciliation and calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, ax forms, and other government-required documentation.
  • Serve as the main resource for employees and managers regarding all payroll policies, employee records and timekeeping matters.
  • Manage internal operating procedures and controls for the processing and distribution of payroll and HRIS management.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement that initiates, recommends and leads improvement projects throughout the year to align payroll & HRIS strategies with overall business objectives working cross-functionally with supervisors, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate actively with departments to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.
  • Manage data in accordance with the company’s record retention policies and procedures and national laws and regulations. 
  • Ensure data privacy and confidentiality of work-related issues, records and company information.
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.  



Employee Engagement & Adherence

  • Manages processes for review and resolution of employee grievances.
  • Advises managers and employees on sensitive labor and employee relations matters, including grievance and arbitration procedures, performance issues and disciplinary actions; advises and assists managers in identifying employee relations issues and determining appropriate course of action.
  • Maintains current knowledge of employee and labor relations trends, legal decisions, and statutory changes; conducts research necessary to support contract negotiations and employee relations. 
  • Manages the team to provide guidance to employees by investigation and advice on a full range of employee relations matters including informal and formal grievances, disciplinary issues, employee assistance referrals, and reduction in force issues.
  • Provides information, advice and assistance to employees regarding application of statutes, regulations, contracts and employee relations practices relating to their functional areas.
  • Manages employee engagement programs and its effectiveness
  • Manages Quipper’s corporate social responsibility and employee involvement in Quipper’s advocacies
  • Manages the process to investigate and respond to complaints from the Department of Labor or other agencies.

Requirements

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, plus at least five (5) years directly-related experience
  • Expert level analytical and creative problem solving skills including statistical analysis and modeling skills. Knowledge of various compensation/benefits regulations and programs
  • Knowledge of HR basic policies and procedures
  • Working experience of both compensation theory and practice
  • Experience includes working in a leadership capacity in a corporate working culture
  • Knowledge of Google suite, with a high proficiency in Spreadsheets is mandatory
