Product QA (Manual Testing)
Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end QA from test planning to actual execution
- Understand business requirements from which to develop test scenarios/cases
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions and solicit information on incomplete requirements
- Ensure that user stories contain specific acceptance test conditions that communicate objectives to both technical and non-technical
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimate testing efforts and identify dependencies to support defined testing scope/timelines
- Produce defect metrics and reports on full QA progress
- Identify and document steps to test for each feature/bug
- Collaborate with test engineers to set up and execute complex scripts independently (QA, Regression, and Smoke tests)
- Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes, ensuring that test results are accurate, thorough, and appropriately documented
- Appropriately prioritize bugs/ issues with the product manager and engineering lead
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Certify application for release to the next testing stage or to the production environment
- Recommend possible enhancements to optimize processes through continuous improvement
- Assist Product Manager in coming up with the acceptance criteria for user stories
- Monitor efforts to resolve product issues and track progress and distribute periodic status reports for testing
- Analyze testing result patterns and other data to ensure continuous improvement in product quality, effectiveness, and efficiency
Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years of related experience in QA for a digital product or similar role in an agile software development environment
- Sufficient understanding of the basic concept and workflow of agile software development and quality assurance
- Experience in driving the implementation of the QA process and methodologies
- Ability to work independently on assigned QA activities – doesn't need to be directed at all times
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills involving communicating technical and non-technical information in writing and verbally
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- Strong time management skills
- Keen attention to detail
